Horizons operates to the highest standards and holds these Accreditations:

Horizons is an RYA (Royal Yachting Association) recognised training centre, accredited to teach both RYA sailing, RYA keel boating, and RYA power boating courses to children and young adults. An RYA Coach/Assessor and an RYA Senior Instructor are employed full time, and supported by volunteer instructors, to ensure safety is paramount and good practice is carried out in all our on water activities.

Horizons is a recognised RYA Sailability Foundation Centre thanks to the development of special courses and craft to enable people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to participate in sailing and powerboating. RYA Sailability has the objective of assisting in the provision of facilities for recreational boating for people with disabilities in order to improve their quality of life.

Horizons is an RYA Onboard centre. This is a programme to introduce sailing and windsurfing as a sport for young people. In ten years, OB  introduced over half a million children into sailing and windsurfing. Horizons activities are helping with OnBoard’s on going aim of more children and young people (aged 8-18) learning to sail and more importantly, keeping them involved in sailing, for life.
