It’s the time of the year when we start organising ourselves for the Eddystone Charity Pursuit, which is a fun sailing chase to raise money for charities that “benefit the human condition”.
Private boat owners enter their yachts and we enter our Hawks in order to try and raise funds for Horizons through sponsorship.
Our cadets who are over 16 and with suitable experience may be able to crew on the Hawks while our younger cadets could have the chance to sail on one of the private boats with support from a Horizons volunteer.
It can be a long day with the boats sailing a 26 mile course, out to the Eddystone lighthouse and back. For more information please see the Eddystone website: http://www.eddystonepursuit.com/
If you would like to express an interest in joining us, please let us know as soon as possible or by the 29th May at the latest, so we can allocate people to the various tasks.
We will then send you more information and the timings for the day, and any forms you need.
If you can’t take part on the day, you can still help by raising sponsorship for one of our boats. You can download a sponsorship form here:Eddystone Sponsorship Form.
Please contact us for any further information.
