We are recruiting for a Permanent Full Time Senior Instructor!

Overview:
Work with our small core team to facilitate on the water sessions for our wide range of participants, delivering both club sessions, school sailing activities and RYA Training. To be involved with the training and upskilling of our team of adult volunteers. Assist with wider operational duties to support the smooth running of Horizons. Be an active role model and adhere to Horizons’ core values, aims and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with all aspects of the Horizons delivery programme
- Delivery of RYA Courses in the National and Youth dinghy, keelboat and powerboat schemes
- Delivery of a wide variety of charitable programmes to local communities and organisations. This will include meaningful work with young people and adults with a variety of additional needs.
- Delivery of shorebased courses and activities
- Assist with the management of the team of volunteers including building relationships and networks, volunteer management, training and working with the team to build the volunteer community
- Work to maintain and repair the fleet of dinghies, keelboats, powerboat and other operational resources where needed
- Work on the “winter programme” of engaging Horizons club members in shorebased activities throughout the winter
- Assist with operational paperwork and administration where required
Wider Responsibilities:
- Work to grow and develop the charity making use of opportunities and partnerships available in line with Andrew Simpson Foundation strategic growth
- Support with transportation of participants in our minibus
- Assist with outreach and networking to the local community where required
- Other duties as required to ensure the smooth running of Horizons
Skills, experience and qualifications:
- Current RYA Senior Instructor – essential
- RYA Keelboat Endorsement – essential (or the ability to get)
- Passion for working with a wide variety of groups and to enable inclusivity – essential
- Hands-on, flexible and proactive approach – essential
- RYA Powerboat Instructor – desirable
- Ability to drive a lite minibus – desirable
- Experience in youth or charity setting – desirable
- Experience in working with young people with SEND or individuals with additional needs – desirable
